Emily & Joe - Dodford Manor

Updated: Dec 10, 2019

We both live in our house in Bristol, Emily is a radiographer and Joe works for a computer company as a technical advisor. When we have days off together we enjoy going to explore new places and going for walks. We also enjoy going out for food and going to the cinema. This year we completed the Edinburgh half marathon along with the best man, Chris. This was Emily’s first half marathon so was a big challenge this year.

THE PROPOSAL?

Whilst on a holiday in Buttermere, Lake District- Joe wanted to propose me after doing a hike up one of the bigger mountains in the area. We got half way up and Emily started to feel unwell from an egg breakfast which didn’t agree with her, so we returned back to the hotel (Emily oblivious to Joes annoyance at the change of plan!). No other time whilst out and about seemed right for Joe, so the proposal was in our hotel room on our last night with both of us in our pyjamas! We saw it as a good thing, as we would now be able to go back to the exact place a lot easier than if it was on top of a mountain!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR WEDDING VENUE OVER OTHERS?

Dodford Manor was the first wedding venue we visited, and after that nothing compared to it. The building and surroundings are beautiful and we just got such a warm welcome, we knew we could trust them with our day.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO HAVE YOUR WEDDING DAY FILMED?

I think a film shows you parts you may have forgotten or missed during the day and keeps the atmosphere alive whenever you watch it. The day goes by so quickly and a lot of it will be missed with being overwhelmed so having something which allows you to recreate those moments is such a necessity.

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST HOPE FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY?

We hope to enjoy our special day with all our friends and family, with lots of memories being made to treasure forever. We have our fingers and toes crossed for good weather so we can explore the gorgeous grounds of Dodford Manor.

You may not have had the weather but you certainly made plenty of happy memories to treasure forever, Congratulations Mr & Mrs Geraerts, you nailed it!

Great working with...
